William Culver Dodds
William was Chief Executive of Harrogate International Festivals for 15 years, where he transformed the organisation from a stand-alone summer music event into a year-round cultural powerhouse. During his time at HIF he set up the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival and a diverse range of outdoor arts festivals and events.
William is Vice-Chair of the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) Europe, where he has developed wide-ranging interdisciplinary networks across the international cultural sector. William is a visiting lecturer for the Cultural Management MSc course at University of Sheffield, and is based in Harrogate.
With 25 years’ experience he now specialises in strategic planning, feasibility and options appraisals for public events and festivals, cultural venues and heritage organisations in the public and private sectors. William also offers expertise in cultural activity funding and helping organisations to present their potential to funders in the most advantageous way.
