FEI were engaged by the City of London Corporation to develop a Cultural Plan for the major new development at Salisbury Square, off Fleet Street, as a condition of a successful planning application. The Culture Plan outlines potential cultural experiences and events across the development with the aim of creating a vibrant city quarter in the heart of the City of London, contributing to the new Destination City strategy.
The development provides a new home for the City of London Police and an eighteen-courtroom facility for His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunal Service, alongside a public square. The Culture Plan had to balance concerns over operations and security for a sensitive site with the City’s ambitions for attracting visitors, opportunities for positive engagement for the anchor tenants and the new Local Plan requirement for Cultural Plans for all new developments.
